Baby Girl room part 2

So I wrote a post a few months back with our girl nursery reveal. I decided that I’ve added to and changed it enough and tweaked things for practicality purposes that new ‘final photos’ were in order.

I added some cute things to the walls mostly from hobby lobby. So we officially have no more wall space for anything! But we also added this ‘don’t worry, be happy’ sign from @theshedinteriors over the closet. 😍 Plus the closet is way more full now than it was a few months ago because #babyshowers and #imbroke πŸ˜‚.

My practical side meant the diaper changing area needed to be finalized. We got our keekaroo I had to have because you can wipe it down. πŸ™Œ

This ubbi diaper pail was what I chose because it doesn’t require special bags like a diaper genie does.

I also added this blue ikea cart we already had with all the wipes, diapers, bath supplies, thermometer, nose frida, nail clippers, cradle cap comb, diaper rash cream and this nifty tool I found on amazon for applying diaper cream without getting it stuck under your fingernails.

Seems kindof stupid when I’m perfectly aware that I will have way worse things under my finger nails soon like poop but the reviews won me over. And we’ve got a good stash of wipes and diapers started too!

On the advice of the internet I also set up a nursing/ pumping station in the room. I have a basket hid next to the rocker filled with all the ‘essentials’: Pump, water bottle, lanolin cream, boppy, small hand sanitizer, pacifier, wipes, burp cloths, breast pads/ shield, chap stick, hair ties etc. Just trying to make my life as smooth as possible after our girl gets here because literally EVERYONE has told me ‘nursing is the hardest thing you will EVER do.’ It made me worry enough about it that I bought a book and did some reading up and there was definitely a lot I didn’t know. I chose this book Latch by Robin Kaplan because it was one of the few options I could find out there that was written within the last couple years and it wasn’t one million pages long. Even though I know it will be hard and an adjustment I’m hoping everything I learned will come in handy. I know a lot of people take breast feeding classes but at my hospital they were expensive and only offered during my work hours on Tuesday nights.

I’ve got our hospital bag packed and I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. It will be nice to not be hot and pregnant anymore. I’m looking forward to the day when the temperatures are a little cooler and I can hang with my girl and fit in my pre-pregnancy jeans again. πŸ˜…

🍩H BABY

Wanted to share the details of my donut brunch themed baby shower. πŸ’•

My sister-in-law Brandie is the Queen party planner and put everything together and hosted at her house. She’s done a million bday parties for my nieces and they’re always awesome and she also hosted our GIRL gender reveal a few months back.

I had so much fun at my baby shower even though being the center of attention makes me super awkward and uncomfortable. πŸ₯΅ πŸ˜‚

Onesie my sis made that says β€˜my siblings have paws πŸΎβ€ and has Hiro and Butters names on it

We received so many of the things we needed for baby Jolley and I am so excited to use it all! Thanks to everyone that wasn’t able to make it but sent along gifts as well- super appreciated!

My momma and Me

We played a funny baby making game with play doh and I picked the most creative and funniest to win little prizes.

We got so much stuff! Now where do I put it all?! πŸ˜‚

Not to mention my work also had a little joint shower where I got all the diapers, wipes, mom advice, gift cards and gifts. Baby girl has so many people that love her already. 😭

3rd trimester feels…

Still alive, still pregs and I started that final trimester. 😱

oh, and I cut off all my hair because #momChop #helloHormones

This last week has suddenly gotten real for me. Like- I’m not just going to be pregnant forever- at the end of this we’re actually getting a baby. A prospect that is so exciting but also anxiety producing. πŸ˜…

I am regularly feeling miss thang kick me and I’m also peeing what feels like every hour because she’s really squashing my bladder. πŸ€ͺ

My baby shower is next week and I’m super excited about it! I booked a photographer for newborn pictures. πŸ₯³ These are the fun parts of this week for me.

Annnnnd the other side of it is that this evening I spent time researching and choosing my ‘birth plan’ and ‘what to pack in your hospital bag’ and signing up for an online breast feeding class and buying postpartum supplies on amazon. πŸ™„ (I had never even heard of most of these products or their uses…like seriously…. tucks, lanolin cream, perineal cold packs, spray and bottles. Ice packs for your nips?! Which gave me a mini anxiety attack but it’s fine, it’s fine. 😬) This is the stuff no one talks about ever and you finally go and get pregnant because you’re “ready” and it’s like SURPRISE this is going to WRECK YOU. πŸ˜‚ Women suck for keeping things like this a secret. Ya’ll suck.

I also started a baby checklist for all the things I need to remember to do like call the pediatrician, make sure the insurance gets switched to a family plan, get the car cleaned and pack the hospital bag, get the breast pump ordered, wash the baby clothes, clean the whole GD house….my heart is having palpitations. This list is getting long and the bottom line is I’ve never done this before and it’s the biggest THIS I’ve ever done. So there’s that. There’s the anxiety attack I’ve been waiting on.πŸ‘

Hope this post made you laugh – making jokes is my only defense against crippling anxiety. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Exciting News!!!

Coming in September our little family is getting a new member. 😍 I can’t tell you how excited we are for this new chapter in our lives to start.

Being pregnant has not been the easiest thing I’ve ever done for sure – but there was a time where we wondered if having a baby was ‘in the cards’ for us- so I’m just really thankful for all of it. Of course, I could deal with less puking. πŸ˜‚ That part has straight up sucked.

I’m writing this at the end of week 14. In 2 days we have our 4-D ultrasound scheduled. πŸ₯° Today I spent my day off running around picking decorations for a fun little gender reveal for our families. And in general everything is falling into place for after this little baby comes.

I’m so so thankful for our 2 supportive families that are going to help us with child care, and also my job who worked out reducing my hours so I can continue working but be at home a lot more than I would have with my old schedule.

I’m just content and happy.β˜€οΈ(With a slight touch of nervous. πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚ )

Stay tuned- every post on here won’t be a baby post but after we find out gender soon I will be going into full on nursery mode – so you already know that will be a blog. β˜€οΈπŸ˜Š
